At Emtec Building Services, we deliver projects across the UK, and we know great planning sits right at the heart of great delivery. That’s why we’re looking for a Planning Manager to help lead how our projects are planned, tracked and delivered across Scotland and beyond.
This isn’t just about programmes and timelines, it’s about influencing outcomes, supporting teams, and making sure everything runs as it should from day one.
Ideally you'll be based at our Coatbridge office however you could also be based at one of our other offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow (Uddingston) or Dundee.
The Role
This is a great opportunity to step into a role where your input genuinely shapes how projects are delivered. You’ll be part of a supportive, experienced team, working on a varied portfolio of projects with the space to grow and develop your career further.
You’ll play a key role from pre-construction right through to completion, helping turn plans into progress and keeping everyone aligned along the way.
You’ll be:
Leading the development of robust, fully linked project programmes
Setting clear baselines at project start-up and ensuring planning standards are met
Monitoring progress, identifying risks early, and keeping projects on track
Working closely with operational teams to keep programmes realistic and deliverable
Supporting project teams through regular meetings, updates and reporting
Sharing your knowledge, leading and guiding others involved in planning
Getting involved in bids and tenders, adding real value where it matters
What You'll Bring
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with a practical, delivery-focused mindset.
You’ll likely have:
Experience as a Project Planner / Planning Manager within MEP or come from a Project / Contracts Manager background where you’ve owned and managed programmes
A solid understanding of planning methodologies and how they apply in live construction environments
Experience using Asta Powerproject (or similar)
Confidence working with teams across all levels of a project
A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine interest in making projects succeed
Excellent communication skills with a passion for innovation, problem solving and strategic decision making.
